Ook dit jaar heeft de aardappelziekte phytophthera nog voor de langste dag weer toegeslagen. De schimmel gedijt bij langdurige regen in de zomerse temperaturen. In percelen met gevoelige rassen zoals Ditta zijn flinke besmettingshaarden gevonden. Hoe houden de nieuwe rassen zich onder deze uitzonderlijke weersomstandigheden?

This year, again, the Phytophthora potato disease has struck even before the summer solstice. The fungus thrives in summery temperatures combined with prolonged rainfall. Massive sources of infection have been found in fields with susceptible varieties such as Ditta. How are the new varieties holding up under these exceptional weather conditions?
