De mate waarin grasland geschikt is voor weidevogels, is sterk afhankelijk van de bemesting die wordt toegepast. Bij een proef bij Utrecht zijn de gevolgen onderzocht van zes verschillende mestsoorten én van het onbemest laten van het land.

The degree to which grasslands are suitable habitat for meadow birds strongly depends on the type of manure applied. A field experiment near Utrecht compared the effects of six different types of manure and the effect of leaving fields unfertilised.
