Working on truly sustainable agriculture around the world
Our projects help to promote truly sustainable agriculture in Europe, Africa and North America. In countries such as Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria we focus on poverty reduction through empowerment, capacity building, and ecologically and socially sustainable production of crops such as cotton and cocoa. Sustainable agriculture has both immediate and lasting effects on poverty reduction and does not deplete natural resources. In Africa we operate under the name of Agro-Eco Louis Bolk Institute. In Ghana we have an office with local staff.
In countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Norway and Canada we work on projects with local research institutes, contributing our expertise on organic plant breeding and livestock health. We also advise and support farmers’ networks such as the organic dairy network in Flanders, Belgium.
