Demonstration projects

Showcasing sustainability results

Farmers are usually eager to see in practice the effects of a new farming method, before adopting it themselves. That is why the Louis Bolk Institute arranges frequent demonstration visits to field trials and other research locations. These demonstrations are an excellent opportunity for farmers to get first-hand information on new research results.

Getting the message across

Demonstrations are a powerful means to communicate research results to the agricultural sector. "Seeing is believing" field trials make results visible and immediately get the message across. Demonstration visits are particularly effective when visitors are shown around by the farmers whose land is used for the trials. And for us, on-farm demonstrations are an excellent way to keep in touch with farming practice.

Making systems work

Most of our sustainability research is conducted in field studies and on-farm projects. This enables us to find innovative ways to improve farming systems as a whole, rather than isolated processes. Our sustainable solutions make systems work.
