Evaluation is the key to improvement
Development projects should focus on results. During the inception phase suitable indicators should be formulated to enable later evaluation of project results. Was the Theory of Change applied correctly? Did overall knowledge and or income levels increase? Evaluation enables donors and beneficiaries to assess how the project performed against its original aims and objectives. Mid-term and final evaluations are essential tools for securing lasting support for sustainable development projects.

The evaluation services of the Agro Eco-Louis Bolk Institute are highly appreciated by our clients, for three reasons: our extensive experience with agricultural development projects in Africa; our reliable and thorough approach; and our helpful recommendations for improvements. For most of our European partners' projects we use the OECD/DAC evaluation guidelines, including the logical framework and key evaluation criteria.
Program design and monitoring services
In addition to our evaluation services we provide program design services for clients wishing to improve the quality of their project proposals. We also assist in designing internal monitoring mechanisms that allow project managers to keep track of project performance.
